Meet the Board
The SASH Board of Directors maintain between 12-15 distinguished members. They come from all walks of life and parts of the world and their service to this organization is volunteer.
Marcus R. Earle, Ph.D.

Dr. Marcus Earle is President of the SASH board and is a graduate from Virginia Tech University, where he earned a doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1988. He is the clinical director of Psychological Counseling Services Ltd., a group private practice, specializing in intensive outpatient therapy. Dr. Earle is licensed as a psychologist and certified as a marriage and family therapist in Arizona. He specializes in working with addictions, couples, and families.
Dr. Earle co-leads compulsivity and co-dependency groups and conducts couples communication workshops and marital and family enrichment programs with his wife, Robin. He both works with and has co-authored the book, "Sex Addiction: Case Studies and Management," with his father, Ralph H. Earle, Ph.D.
Robin Cato, J.D.
Robin is the executive director for The Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health in Atlanta, Georgia. She is also an attorney at law in the state of Georgia. Robin teaches as an adjunct professor at John Marshall Law School in Atlanta.
Prior to her law career, she taught high school English in the Orlando, Florida, area. She earned her B.A. in English from Stetson University in Deland, Florida, and her law degree from Mississippi College School of Law, Jackson, Mississippi.
Dr. Milton S. Magness, D Min, MA Psy, LPC, CSAT

Dr. Magness is the founder and director of Hope & Freedom Counseling Services. He is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor
He specializes in Three-Day Intensives for individuals and couples where compulsive sexual behavior is a factor. Intensives are offered in Houston or, for clients who require greater anonymity, at a discrete location in the Canadian Rockies.
Dr. Magness earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary, a Master of Arts in Psychology from Houston Baptist University, a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) from Sam Houston State University. He has led national workshops on cybersex addiction and has conducted a multi-state research study that focused on cybersex behavior and recovery among self-identified sex addicts.
Cara W. Tripodi, LCSW, CSAT-S
Cara is the executive director and owner of S.T.A.R., Sexual Trauma & Recovery Inc., in Wynnewood, PA. Ms Tripodi graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1991 where she received her Masters in Social Service degree. She has been treating sex addicts and their partners in both individual and group settings since that time; is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH) where she is on the Board of Directors; is a member of the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction (IITAP) through whom she is certified as a sex addiction therapist and supervisor (CSAT-S). She is also a Level II trained EMDR therapist. Her previous experiences include service as a pediatric medical social worker where she developed expertise in the area of traumatic and chronic illness and loss.
Ms. Tripodi contributed to the book Mending a Shattered Heart: A Guide for Partners of Sex Addicts. She is currently writing for publication in 2012 with Claudia Black PhD., Intimate Treason a book for partners of sex addicts. Additionally for publication in 2012, she is collaborating with other therapists on an edited book for the treatment of women sex, love and relationship addicts. Today, Cara maintains a private practice as well as lectures to the behavioral healthcare community both locally and nationally.
Deborah Coffin, MS,

Deborah Coffin received her Master's degree in Human Services from Southern New Hampshire University and has been in the field of addiction counseling and research for more than 30 years. Ms. Coffin also served as the 1997 Clinical Director for Seminole Point Hospital a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility formerly located in Sunapee, NH. Deborah has also served on the Springfield, NH Board of Selectmen and is currently the founder and owner of Moose Country Gourmet, LLC purveyors of marvelous mustards, delicious fudge sauces, and fruit infused syrups, and chunky chutneys.
John Giugliano, Ph.D.
Dr. John Giugliano is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in Philadelphia and Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. He specializes in the treatment of persons with problematic sexual behavior, trauma, gay /lesbian and bisexual issues, and relational/intimacy disorders. Dr Giugliano obtained his BA from Villanova University (Valedictorian), MSW from UCLA (Summa Cum Laude) and his PhD from Smith College (Honors). He has lectured and published nationally and internationally on the subject of sexual addiction. Dr. Giugliano is an Assistant Professor in Widener University's MSW and Doctoral program.
Bill Swiggart, M.S., LPC
 William Swiggart is a licensed professional counselor and has been involved in the practice of psychotherapy for 25 years. He is the Training Director of The Center for Professional Health at Vanderbilt University and maintains a private practice in Nashville, Tennessee. Bill received his bachelor's degree in special education and a master's degree in educational psychology from the University of Tennessee.
Tim Lee
 Timothy Lee is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, State of New York, and a certified member of the American Association for Sex Addiction Therapy. He earned his MSW from New York University. Tim received his clinical training with Patrick Carnes, Ph.D. and Douglas Weiss, Ph.D. as well as at the Psychodrama Institute New York and Keystone ECU in Chester, Pennsylvania. Tim is the founder of New York Pathways, an outpatient sexual addiction treatment facility in New York City.
Through private practice, Tim provides therapy to individuals and couples who are experiencing difficulties relating to sex addiction and compulsive behavior. He is a board member of The Society for The Advancement of Sexual Health, which publishes a scientific journal on sexual compulsivity and hosts an annual conference to provide educational sessions on the treatment of sex addiction. He is a member of IITAP (International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals), and is also a founding member of Addiction Therapy Professionals, a professional group of therapists specializing in the treatment of sex addiction.
Before starting his private practice, Tim worked at various addiction treatment centers in the New York City area, including Hazelden of New York.
