What’s Behind Political Sex Scandals?
Attend the upcoming SASH conference to learn about problematic sexual behavior
Ardmore, PA (September 5, 2016) Former U.S. Congressman Anthony Weiner is just one of many high-profile politicians like Mark Sanford, Gary Hart and Bill Clinton to name but a few, who has become more famous for his sexual behavior than for his political judgment. Sadly, problematic sexual behaviors afflict more than just politicians. It is a problem that goes to the heart of many families.
To learn more about problematic sexual behavior and what remedies are available, attend the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health’s National Annual Conference taking place in Austin, TX this year from September 22-24 at the Downtown Radisson Hotel. The conference’s theme this year is “Integrating Heart, Mind and Body in the Pursuit of Sexual Health.”
In addition to sexual health experts from the US and abroad, a number of highly respected speakers from the great state of Texas will be featured including Janice Caudill, MJ Denis, Marie Krebs, Debra Dian Larsen, Jeff Marksberry, Sarah Morales, Kristin Neff, Stevie Stanford, Elaine Tuccio and Steven Vasquez.
Marriage expert Barry McCarthy will also offer a special, stand-alone workshop entitled, “Rekindling Sexual Desire,” on Sunday, September 25 at the same location.
Sexual issues are an important topic for both the public and clinicians to understand, as this fundamental human drive can create challenges for many. Conference speakers will cover topics that impact the mental health and overall functioning of clients and families. Here’s a sprinkling of the upcoming offerings:
- The New Monogamy
- Monsters or Men? A Basic Guide to Sex Offender Treatment
- Self-Compassion & Emotional Healing
- The Journey Back: Reprocessing Sexual Trauma Safely
- Complex Models of Sexual Health and the LGBT Community
- Intimacy and Connection in Recovery
- The Impact of Spiritual Abuse on the Addict and Partner
- The Disintegrating Effect of Internet Pornography
- Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation: Improving Mental and Sexual Health
- Children Traumatically Impacted by a Parent’s Sexual Addiction
The SASH AWARDS ceremony will highlight the best practice of experts whose contributions the field deserve wide recognition. This year SASH honors Cambridge University researcher Paula Banca, therapist and TEDx speaker Paula Hall, past SASH president and therapist John Giugliano, and also the therapist and author Stefanie Carnes.
